Uganda Human Rights Commission
Mandate
To protect and promote human rights in the country.
The Commission was enshrined in the 1995 Uganda Constitution and established on 6 November 1996.
Functions
- To iInvestigate and hear human rights allegations,
- Visit places of detention,
- Carry out research, education and training,
- Monitor government's compliance with international obligations and make recommendations to Parliament
